About the Park District

Our Mission

The mission of the Grand Forks Park District is to promote broad-based opportunities for all ages and abilities, increase and enhance equal access of recreational benefits and participation in parks and recreation, increase public awareness as to the healthful benefits of participation in parks and recreation, promote beautification of the city's natural environment, promote professionalism in the delivery of parks, recreation, and environmental services, and increase understanding of the contributions made by parks, recreation, and forestry to the economic development of our community.

Our Values Statement

We believe in providing activities which promote a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle for all citizens of our community. We value a wide range of individual and group activities, which are accessible to all ages and levels of abilities so all citizens can participate. We believe that quality of life is esential to the well-being of the citizens of our community. We value the environment, open spaces, and the right to enjoy nature with its inherent beauty. We value conservation of our natural resources because they enhance quality of life. We believe the Park District should be a community leader. We value communication with our citizens, the business community, other agencies and private organizations in order to promote the economic, social and cultural development of the community.
