  • The Parks Department maintains about 850 acres of land, which equals 43 parks and facilities.  The Park Department provides you with a clean, manicured area to hold picnics, family reunions, or simply to relax in the parks.  They also flood and clear the skating rinks in the winter.

  • The Recreation Department cooperates with many different associations and agencies to provide 50 programs and special events

  • The Forestry Department plants and maintains the berm trees throughout the City, as well as trees located in the park system.  So, as you are enjoying the shade of an old oak tree in the parks, know that the Forestry Department is responsible for those trees.

  • The Grand Forks Park District is a separate governing agency with the ability to levy taxes.

  • Approximately 7¢ of your tax dollar goes towards the provision of parks, facilities, and services.

  • The Park Board Meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month at 5:00 p.m., Grand Forks Park District Office.
