Grand Forks Parks and Recreation Foundation
As the Grand Forks Park District continues to enhance the lives of those in our city, we ask that you consider contributing to our foundation, which will provide valuable support in the development of programs, facilities and parks, benefiting not only the children and families of today, but future generations to come.

Join us February 14th to raise donations for GF kids!
Over 40% of children in Grand Forks qualify for park activity scholarships. That is a lot of kids not
participating due to financial constraints. Help us change this - Sponsor a Child.
WHAT's THIS ALL ABOUT?
On this day only, the Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF) has promised to match online contributions made to the GF Parks & Rec Foundation, up to $4000. 100% of all contributions go to Scholarships for Local Kids and all donations are tax-deductible.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
On February 14th, please make a secure online donation of $10 or more at www.impactgiveback.org to have it matched by DMF.
Donate Now: EASY AS 1-2-3
1) Go to www.impactgiveback.org & click on Giving Hearts Day “Donate” button
2) Choose “Grand Forks Parks & Rec Foundation” from participants list
3) Then click “Donate Now” on the GF Parks & Rec web page to enter your donation
Did you know: In 2010, we raised $10,000 in donations and Dakota Medical Foundation matched $4000 of that amount. Our total amount raised was $14,000, which support Youth Scholarships. We have identified scholarships as a primary Foundation focus. At least 40% of children in Grand Forks qualify for scholarships for Park District programs and activities. This is one way to help those children and families, as well as spread the word about our scholarship program!

Our Foundation Mission
Contribute to and promote healthful lifestyles in our community through the development and enhancement of parks, playgrounds, recreational facilities, programs and activities for all people of Grand Forks, regardless of age, physical ability or economic position.
Our Foundation Vision
The Grand Forks Parks and Recreation Foundation is committed to the development and utilization of funds to progress the betterment of our community. Some ideas include, but are not limited to:
- Provide financial support to children who may otherwise be unable to participate in Park District programs due to family financial constraints.
- Continue to develop and enhance programs offered through the Park District to all children and adults, regardless of age and/or ability.
- Prioritize needs regarding the maintenance and upgrades of existing facilities, as to continue providing programs in safe and quality environments.
- Develop new parks and facilities based on the ever-changing needs of the community.
- Support youth groups and projects, which focus on risky behavior prevention and promote healthful decisions and opportunities.
Ways to Give
Cash Donation
Most gifts take the form of cash donations. It is as
easy as writing a check or using your credit card.
Checks should be made payable to the Grand Forks
Parks and Recreation Foundation.
Life Insurance
Many, if not most people own some form of life
insurance policy, which can play a very important
role when planning future giving. Life insurance
for cheritable donation purposes can be accomplished
by 1) the transfer of ownership of an existing
policy to the Grand Forks Parks and Recreation
Foundation, or 2) the purchase of a life insurance
policy, which names the Grand Forks Parks and
Recreation Foundation as the beneficiary.
Appreciated Property
Planning for giving can include long-term appreciated
securities or real estate as an option for donation.
This option can also generate a favorable tax
benefit over a long period of time.
Ulland Grant Opportunity
The next application for Ulland Grants will be made available October 1, 2009.
This applilcation round will support the 2010 Ulland Grants Award Year.
