PLAYGROUND REOPENING PLAN & SUMMER PROGRAMS UPDATE
(As of May 8,2020)

Following the May 5th Park Board of Commissioners meeting, the decision has been made to begin opening playgrounds next week, in addition to moving forward with a tentative three-phase plan in anticipation of a slow reopening of recreational facilities and programs this summer.

Phase 1 will begin by thoroughly disinfecting the playgrounds over the weekend (with a disinfectant recommended by the Health Department & the ND Recreation and Parks Association) and reopening the playgrounds next week. Signage will be placed in each of the parks and a list of when each park playground's disinfecting schedule will be listed on our website: gfparks.org.

As for summer programming, we plan to open registration for limited summer programs in late May, with programming available starting ideally in late June/early July. We are moving forward with summer activity registration in hopes that we will be in phase three by the time our limited summer programs begin. If not, we will be adjusting our programming and/or issuing refunds and credits.

While we are excited to slowly reopen our recreation facilities and programs to the public, the safety of our community is of the highest importance. We will be sending out more updates as information becomes available. Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding during this time.

For complete details on Phase 1, 2, & 3 of our reopening plan, as well as a list of current available park amenities visit: www.gfparks.org/grand-forks-park-district/covid-19-information/

PLAYGROUND CLOSURES
To assist in helping prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Grand Forks Park District has closed all public playgrounds until further notice. This decision was made after consulting with the Department of Public Health, resulting in a recommendation of closing outdoor playgrounds to reduce transmission from equipment and prevent children from congregating.

Open spaces within the parks & trails will REMAIN OPEN. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

Wondering about Summer Programs this year?

Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation and the uncertainty of program schedules, the Park District will be delaying the distribution of our Summer Activity Guide, as well as postponing the opening date of summer activity registration for now.

It is our intention to proceed with as many summer programs as possible, with the guidance of our public health department. Once we determine the updated schedules for our programs, we will begin promoting the summer programs to the public. By doing this, we hope to reduce the amount of confusion and possible frustration that would be caused by continually changing program dates and locations due to COVID-19.

We appreciate your understanding and we look forward to a fun summer full of activities and sunshine! For More Info & Updates:
