The Grand Forks Park District is seeking a hard-working and motivated individual for the full-time, benefitted position of Arborist Specialist position.

JOB SUMMARY: This position is an entry-level position in the Forestry Department with the Grand Forks Park District.  This position includes routine tree maintenance such as pruning, planting, inspections, applying pesticides, and tree removals of boulevard and park trees throughout Grand Forks. In the winter months this position will also be involved with snow removal.  Individuals in this position are expected to function as an apprentice to the Senior Arborist position, eventually becoming a fully functioning Senior Arborist after requirements are fulfilled.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Must have achieved a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Three years of applicable work experience or training in an arboricultural field, or an Associate Degree in the field of Urban Forestry or a comparable related field is preferred but not required.
• Current Driver’s License Required

Starting Pay: $21.09 – $22.09/hr + DOE

Hours:  

• 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Thursday;
• 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday.
